Google released a great new tool to enhance the functionality of search.  In May, Google rolled out Wonder Wheel as a product to drill down into related search terms.  Here is an overview of how to use Wonder Wheel.

Conduct a normal search at Google using the search box. Then, above the search results you will find the words “show options.”  Click this link to see a menu appear on the left side of the page.  Scroll down the menu to standard view to find the Wonder Wheel link.   Click this link.

A hub and spoke diagram will appear with your search term in the hub position.  Each spoke is a search term related to the initial search term on the hub (center).  Click on any spoke to drill down into that search term.  Then, the spoke you clicked becomes the hub with additional spokes related to this search term.

Each time you click a link in Wonder Wheel, the search list on the right side of the page is updated based on Google search results.  This is a great tool to find new websites and blogs as well as to gather competitive intelligence.  For example, search for your chosen keywords to see what is ranked high on Google.
